The Monk Parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus), also known as the Quaker Parrot, is a small bright-green parrot native to the temperate and subtropical regions of South America. Unlike most parrots, Monk Parakeets build large, communal stick nests that can house multiple breeding pairs. They are highly adaptable and have established feral populations in many cities across North America and Europe.
